About XCOM, Animation, Script and Rocketshark Studios

Hey again,

A brief update. So I have been working a little more on the scripts, testing a new video game, XCOM Enemy Unknown the remake (and loving it) and have recieved an audio of an earlier work. It's been edited by Mike of Rocket Shark Studios, recordered by a talented voice actor, sounds really nice, loved that too.

Moving on, Rocket Shark Studios site is this http://rocketsharkstudios.com/ it is still a fresh site, and some work is being done, refreshing might help if problems occur, always welcome to check.

Coming back to XCOM, really neat game, Firaxis done a good work on it, although I played some of the very old XCOM and the newer ones, can't really compare to the original, did play Laser Squad that was a fun and fantastic title, even though back then it felt tough being unforgiving, it did draw me into the game, immersive stuff indeed. I suppose, because of its complexity with lack of troubling boredom it did engage me quite a lot. That or I was EXTREMLY resiliant to failure heh. Reminds me the rocket launcher buldozzered a heck of a lot area heh. Enough nostalgia though, so next up I will be working further on scripts, some tinkering on game making software, provided I dig into the thing deep enough and drawing new pictures would be beneficial.

That wraps up the subjects with a tad more than the title suggests, hope to post again soon, until then, keep your eyes open for more of the good stuff.

Thanks for reading see you soon.

Refreshing news, game design, a year long journey

Hello and greetings everyone,

Pardon me the long wait, fortunately, as life teaches us taking a break from things gives new insights leading  us into the Journey down deep into the misty lands of our interior workings. So what has happend over the year wait? Quite a lot and not all that much actually. I managed to work on quite a few designs (practice makes perfect!) written some scripts, done even more writing, good exercises in general, tried some software (Unity Game Engine, RPG Game Maker, Game Maker Studio, Unreal Development Kit) just touched upon the surface for now but it was good to take a look at those. Picking the right engine can be a challenge. Having experience with Runic Games Torchlight TorchED was a real blessing, if memory serves me right the graphics used Ogre3D. A quick google search reveals it was OGRE, while the site being Ogre3d. Coming back to Torchlight's modding might be a good idea, since it's simple.

Well as for more news, Rocket Shark Studios is what the guys from uni been working on, a cool idea, seeing  things moving is definitely a good sign, it is still the beginning but they are sure on their way to greatness. Reasonable optimism is good. Having a rocket in your shark is better. So let us give them a big welcome on the scene.

So what else is there? I have been researching various subject, some history, philosophy, architecture, personas of the past ages, sociological ideas, militaria, fortifications, art, game industry news, new game releases, and more. To keep it short this time, I will just add that in I will keep posting here, don't know the frequency of the said posts, but surely will put more emphesis on this.

Regarding project RLR it is waiting to gain more brawn, but is not forgotten, may undergo changes. Will surely develop more on it, giving things time never hurt, then again let's not forget about vaporeware, it does exist, you just don't see it.

A big thanks to all who have been visiting and keep on checking, it really counts, and you are great people.

Hold on guys, the best is yet to come.

COPPERLION Prologue

COPPERLION

A Tale of lies, spies, cries,
fights, blights and:
A Warrior who Knew nothing
A Thief Who knew too much and
A Sorcerer who Knew just about enough
and also that tombac is not gold Dumbwit!

PROLOGUE

The Almighty Copperlion dragged on his chains, the sunny disc onto the skies from behind the Gerrlah Mountains. While the Goddess of Dusk, Eosia streeched her arms in awake and a warmhearted smile, scaring off her twin sister - Noxia the Evil and Deluding Goddess of Night and dispare who was very annoyed by her sibling. Thus the Copperlion brought his heavy burden to the sixth hour of the morning, lighting the planes of Calvindor followed by a storming wind of Metalzabian, the Trickster God who blows a lot and brings boons of gamble to people who worship him, with his stronger brother Hurracanois they rule the Midair Kingdom. As the sunny discs rays caressed the wine grapes in Yohi's Garden, Master Yohi was sweeping the porch of his dojo. It is then when he was awaiting his guest, a long time friend and brother in arm's son, who he saw almost 23 years ago at Lake Tahatsu were the friend had his homestead and a piece of land. Yohi put away the broom and sat down on the step of his stairway. He pulled out a small pouch with Black Vannila and took a pinch which he put in his mouth and started chewing on it.
A grasshopper jumped on Yohi's foot. The Master looked at it for a firm moment and picked him up slowly. He glanced it throughly and took it inside of his dojo. Meanwhile the Sun Disc was already at the ninth hour position on the sky. In this peak time of the morning, with environment freshly woken up and living its best, a young traveler with his battle cat climbed up the King’s road, paved with granite stones from the Royale Quarry near the river Saltia, there he stopped at the Water Shrine to refill his supplies. Little that the adventurer knew that the *Mallman that was crossing the road on his Bondobike missed his breaks check on the 3rd of Mab three months ago, and is riding towards destiny…

*Mallman - A common term for little humanoids which resemble a short rotund human. They are usually not taller than at the waist of an average man and of a brightly orange complexion, their hair are often thick and bushy, same as their eybrows and facial hair. In addition, Mallman are good at tinkering on any kind of mechanisms, there is a well known example of a mallman by the name Bulko, who managed to use his knowledge of “Telefont” technology and “hicking” in gaining access to the Palantor network, all free of charge. Saddly this great effort was later turned in vain when his neighbour Mr. Hatchly reported Bulko to the authorities...

Hello, here is the beginning of my old story (the prototype was written around 2007) that I have edited slightly and it was revised by Reese Mills for the purpose of corrections. Also there is Chapter one for this, which will be posted tomorrow if everything works out.

Work in Progress (WIP) update 25th june 2011

Hi there and straight to the point. I hurry to inform that progression of work is going at an evolving speed rate, which is good, I'm finally getting along with work. So for the story adapted for the design document, it has reached a certain stage where it is vastly descriptive, although, thanks to a friend's opinion, I shouldn't focus on the details but get the big picture as much complete as possible. For now I have taken a break from that document since this serves well the variet of perspectives (at times I get too clingy to a certain concept). With a fresh look, it will gain more substance.

Another thing is the Labores Somnium Project that I mentioned here in the past, I'm part of it and the piece I have been writing is the Astrofantasy/Island Kingdom. The new update is that I have drawn the main hero concept for the other part of the story. The effect that the drawing had on the Project Leader (that's Ley) was, 'spot on' so to speak. Can't use the exact words Ley used for it, but the sentence included the word awesome!. And it was at first attempt, also to my surprise. I will post this sketch when I have it in proper file format. Also to assure you it is well visible did stronger linework in contradiction to the past drawings so you will see it well. Let us go further...

A confidential project I have been offered to join is in making, already started the initial phaze. Now to explain something. I have generated quite a few different concepts for it, chose one and even to my surprise it goes better than I expected. I am not allowed to reveal any details but as for my input the project... well let me not spoil the surprise, promising too much is not my intention nor my style. I hope I have spiced up the atmosphere a little with this.

Now one thing that has been a theme in this post is story writing... or it just races my mind all the time. Well, here goes. A steampunk story that has reached 3000 words some while ago is just a start to a novella if not more possibly. The question is, should I betray the influences I drawn from or leave it to you? Funny as, if I remember right I haven't yet explained anything about it and am struggling with the thought of posting a large excerpt turned into a short story or to post it in parts (as the Morgaine Wade/Bilco Kid idea, I'll get back to that one actually!). So At least we have something to look forward to. Hm, ok, why not? If you heard of Albert Camus, and like theme's of epidemic, ancient, supernatural, and eccentric doctor's who are adventurers, this is a thing for you.

Tis all from Bonesaw commodities for now, please stay tuned for further broadcasting and thank you for visiting! I can't help notice that some of you come here more frequently so don't be fooled, I do appreciate that!

Brief news and work in progress

Hello there, and straight to the point, my router fried just a week ago and I was offline for the said period of time, things are back to normal now fortunately. During that break I was adapting one of my old stories into a level document, with the given advice from my buddy Reese. It goes very well, and I managed to start some aditional stories. Looks like my writers block is fading, good sign. It took me 3 or 4 years to get things going smooth in story writing area. Anyway, the level I'm making on paper will be somewhere around an RPG/Hack'n'Slash/Action Adventure in a low magic, fantasy world. Portfolio and practice purposes. I need to slow it down cause instead of a 10 minute level it transforms into a game bible. Other than that I'd like to show you one of the pictures I coloured, from Drawing and Composition 3. Hope you like it, somehow after being done with the course I started drawing better, although I will show the new things when they are done to a better standard. Again apologies for leaving you without new input.

Ok so with a fresh start here's the XVI century soldier, lots of those things are inspired by things I could find during my research. Without further ado, here's what I got.

Well here it is, XVI century soldier, supposedly, some tweaks of mine here and there. With practice I should get better and that's what I'm counting on. Also I'm changing the text colour so it's easier to read. I will apply this change as soon as I relearn how to do it, in the mean time, enjoy!
